A few of My favorite things.

Learning-

I love learning more about natural health and wellness, home remedies, how to preserve food, and trying new things in all areas of life. I work for a local dairy milking cows and managing store hours, selling consigned childen's clothing on my IG account The Thrifted Button, and all things photos here!! We have started small moments of our home-schooling journey and it's such a joy already. Protecting their childhood, exploring with them, lots of late night sleepovers and dance parties. I love involving them in everything I do!

DIY-

Whether it's baking bread, growing food from seeds I've saved, or raising/ butchering ducks and chickens. I love it all. I truly love the independence of knowing how to do things myself. I remodeled most of my house (with the help of my dad!) while I was 8 months pregnant. I love to paint. One thing on my bucket list for this year is to learn how to use my embroidery machine!

Life-

I stay at home and have had to learn to slow down. I love to serve others and at times that becomes all-consuming. This year's goal was to learn to stop and smell the roses. Spend more time outside. Read books. Workout. Cook. and PLAYYY. I love to be on the go, almost as much as I love to stay at home in my sweats ;) God has created a world full of small and large miracles and this generation, I believe, has lost the art of awe. To truly appreciate the life we've been given, the gift of salvation, and the people we get to experience it all with.

Babies-

I truly love every baby I ever meet. Hubby and I have always said we want 7 kids, but we truly will just take as many as God gifts us.

I want to reflect who you naturally are, not what I force you to be for others to see. I focus on real moments spent together.

I strive to be known for having a focus on serving my clients well. I want my bookings to be based on a reputation of who I am. You truly are more than a number to me and I want every moment with you to reflect how much I mean that. I hope you leave feeling uplifted with true joy.

I'm not here to be a trend that comes and goes by following social media's current expectations for the photography industry. I really just want to serve YOU. And that may mean that my portfolio has inconsistencies, but if my clients leave feeling valued, heard, and have images to love, then I am HAPPY <3 I am still learning new things with every family I meet, and I pray I am continually increasing my skill and delivery. With that, I tend to be much more flexible if you have editing preferences. I also offer 5 complementary re-edits. This ensures you leave your session LOVE at least 5 images.

What is my style?

Editing-

I love warm, backlit images that are crisp with bright contrast. I strive for consistent lighting and prefer to translate the natural colors of the moment. I want to focus on the people, not the location. I'm very picky about lighting;) I want your face just perfect, and no shadow distractions! Lighting truly is my biggest focus. I am growing to love softened hues: decreasing the blues, greens, yellows & increasing the warm tones. To increase the contrast I drop the shadows, soften the background, and sharpen the subject.

Posing- 

If you have ideas do share, because I know everyone has a different personality and preference and that's fine with me! I take no offense to you having an opinion, that way I know I'm serving you the best I can. 

Most of my clients prefer guidance when it comes to posing. They enjoy not having to worry about what to do, and being shown examples of poses I am aiming for. I will take the time to fix your hair, move your hands, and get each person to the best angle. My goal is to leave you with some perfectly posed options, and naturally candid moments in between.

Locations-

I love nature and greenery. If you prefer less nature, share that in your inquiry submission & I will use a location that has more brick or architecture. I also have an indoor location, and also love to photograph in-home sessions! I am currently available to travel up to one hour (travel costs may be added).

Experience-

Kids will get to be kids & I will follow your family's personalities! If you are naturally a lover- your images should reflect that. I will hone in on cuddles & interactive photos that allow you to replay those moments for years to come. BUT - If you feel out of your element in an intimate pose, that's okay too! I'm also here to give you more structured options! I'll be honest, posed photos are 100% my speed when I'm the subject! I'm not one to naturally dance and follow cues in front of a camera, so trust me I get it. But if you are one of those naturally playful and giddy families, I will sit back and watch your love shine through! You truly will treasure the photos that best represent who you naturally are!

Whatever you are wanting... I will do my very best to follow your lead to make you feel in your element while taking the burden on myself to guide our time together. This is your time to relax and enjoy the moment with the people you love the most. I hope to take the expected stress out of the annual family photo session.
